The date is set...

Well, we finally have a date set. Looks like my hopes of having the movers "too busy" to schedule us, turned out to be just wishful thinking. Even though this is the busiest time of the year for the movers, they had the date open and waiting for us.
We will be getting on the plane on Monday the 27th, which will put us in Doha the next day, Tues. evening. The total time of travel will be 21 hours, this is with a 3 hour layover in Germany. So far, the boys are very excited and have big plans for this long airflight, ...Erik and I know better.
We have confirmed our housing in the "Qipco compound" (the compound of our choice) simply because it's brand new and has much more storage. However, I've been earnestly praying that God will place us where He needs us to be. I'm hopeful this is the place. Erik describes it as Southern California housing. He brought back pictures of the exact house plan we will be moving into. It's very nice. I look forward to decorating and making this house a home, until our assignment is over. I'll be sure to post pics when I get a chance.
Just a reminder...I will try to keep this blog positive, kind and somewhat serious. If there are any complaints about the Country or the people (or the driving), you won't hear about it from this site. It's better to air on the safe side and not ruffle any feathers. Besides, this is the type of attitude I'm training myself to have at all times, anyway.
Also, some have been asking about the time difference. The sun rises in the East and then sets in the West. So we will begin our day before you do, while you are waking up, half of our day will be over. The time difference is 8 hours.

We want all of you to know that we will be thinking of and praying for you. We know that our God goes before us and He will guide our steps, strengthen our hands and minds and keep us under the protection of His wing.
"Be strong and courageous; for The Lord is the one who goes ahead of you; He will be with you. He will not fail you nor forsake you. Do not fear nor be dismayed." Deuteronomy 31:7-8.
I am certain of this, not because we could ever deserve it but because He keeps His promises.

Much Love to all...
Sandy and Family.

The red light is on....

August 10th seemed like an eternity away! I can hardly believe that it is almost time for my Erik to come home, he will have been gone a total of 3 weeks, and just today, we found out that our Visas are fully processed and we are "clear for take off". I'm now starting to get cold feet. ;-(
On the bright side, I have busied myself and used my time wisely, our things are in order and that brings me some level of comfort. Now, the international movers will determine our departure date. (I hope they are having a very busy month!) ;-)
Stay tuned for the "date" everyone has been asking about...
I'm praying for courage, guidance and always His will, I know that God will supply us with what we need to move forward.
Much Love to all,
Sandy.

p.s. Our Bible classes have red lights in each room. This is to quietly let the teacher know that it's almost time to come to an end. The red light is on...

Grand opening to our Grand departure...

Hello to all our loved ones,

This is my new blog which will be used to share with you, our days in Doha, and scrapbook our lives as expatriates in a very foreign land. We want everyone to know that we will be thinking of and missing all those who are so dear to us.

All are welcome to come and stay in our home for a visit, however, if you are not able to visit Qatar, then just visit our blog instead.
